Paying tribute to what remains a nostalgic destination, MiZa is located in historic Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi’s first and most culturally significant port, the birthplace of innovation in urban development, economic growth, and societal progress. Dating back to 1968 when the UAE founder His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan put a plan in motion for a transformative piece of infrastructure that would hasten the modernisation of the nation. Once the place where local fishing industries could start on their journey to scale their businesses into vibrant trading hubs. Protecting the legacy of Sheikh Zayed’s vision for vital transformation whilst retaining the port’s defining features of wide streets and versatile warehouses is at the heart of the concept, reinvigorating it into an active destination.
